As the makers of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’ announced the film to release on July 2, the biographical movie is headed to clash with another film that celebrates the valour of an army officer- ‘Major’.
Earlier last month, the makers of ‘Major’ announced the release date of the film celebrating the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in the tragic Mumbai attacks of 26/11. Starring Adivi Sesh slipping into the character of the brave army officer, ‘Major’ aims to celebrate the life of Major Sandeep, not just capturing the story behind his death but also the spirit with which he lived.
With a theatrical release, ‘Major’ is now set to clash with another biographical film based on an army officer- ‘Shershaah’. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the pan-India bilingual in Hindi and Telugu, ‘Major’ also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, in leading roles with a strong support cast of Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma.
Produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies, ‘Major’ is slated to release on July 2.
While ‘Shershaah’ is based on the life of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, who was posthumously awarded Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. Directed by Vishnuvardhan and co-produced by Karan Johar, the movie traces the life journey of Captain Vikram Batra.
