‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ turns 6: Ayushmann Khurrana feels ‘grateful’ as it ‘enabled’ him to ‘write’ his ‘own destiny’

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has carved his name in the history of Bollywood with his brand of cinema which is now called ‘The Ayushmann Khurrana Genre’. 

The versatile actor has triggered national level conversations with his social entertainer that are primarily based on taboo topics. Known as the ‘poster boy of content cinema in India’, Ayushmann’s popularity has been soaring every day. 

Ayushmann has delivered back to back hits and through his unique, quirky, stereotype-breaking films, he has carved his name as a risk-taking hero who is constantly trying his best to normalise taboo topics. The ‘Bala’ actor is also an avid social media user and keeps his fans entertained and engaged with the updates of his personal and professional life. 

On Saturday, Ayushmann celebrated the sixth anniversary of his sleeper hit ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, which starred Bhumi Pednekar opposite him. Taking to his Instagram handle, the ‘Dream Girl’ fame actor shared a montage video, which included some scenes from the movie. 

Along with the video, Ayushmann penned a heartwarming note for the team and told that how the movie has helped him write his destiny in the industry. “Films like #DumLagaKeHaisha have been the voice of my beliefs and these have also enabled me to write my own destiny in this industry. I never looked back after DLKH and so, it will always be a super special one for my career, for my life. I will forever be indebted to Adi sir, Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya for bringing this film to me. Grateful,” Ayushmann said in his post.

Bhumi Pednekar, Mouni Roy and Esha Gupta dropped heart emoticons in the comment section.

‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ is a 2015 romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Sharat Katariya, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra and Seema Pahwa in the lead roles. The film’s background score is composed by Italian composer Andrea Guerra. The flick was released to good critical reception. The film also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. 

On the work front, Ayushmann has teamed up with Anubhav Sinha for ‘Anek’, after their big success with ‘Article 15’. After shooting in Kaziranga, Ayushmann is now shooting in Shillong. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha under Benaras Media Works and T-Series, ‘Anek’ will release in the theatres on September 17.

While, Ayushmann’s ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ is all set to release in theatres on July 9. The movie also stars Vaani Kapoor. He will also star in ‘Doctor G’.
