Javed Akhtar turns 76: Alia Bhatt wishes ‘Javed Saab’, says she misses their ‘long conversations about cinema’

Poet, lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar on Sunday has turned 76, and the film fraternity is showering their love and wishes on him on the social media. 

Born in 1945 in Gwalior, Javed Akhtar’s father Jan Nisar Akhtar was a Bollywood film songwriter and Urdu poet. Javed Akhtar is a recipient of the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, the Sahitya Akademi Award as well as five National Film Awards.

In the early part of his career, he was a screenplay writer, creating films such as ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Sholay’. Later, he left screenplay-writing and became a lyricist and social-political activist. 

On the occasion of his birthday, actress Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram story and shared a picture of Javed Akhtar. She also penned a heartwarming birthday wish for him.

In the post Alia wrote, “Happy Birthday Javed Saab. I miss our meetings and long conversations about cinema and life! Here’s wishing you the best best year & I truly truly hope to see you very soon”.

On the work front, Alia will be seen next in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’, along with Ranbir Kapoor. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan. The 27-year-old star will also feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawad’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Takht’.
