As part of the 186th ‘Raising Day Celebrations’ of Assam Rifles, an evening musical extravaganza was held in Shillong, Meghalaya on Thursday.
The musical evening was organised by IDFC First bank under its ‘Honour First’ outreach to the valiant troops deployed in the North East guarding our frontiers.
The main attraction of the show was Maqsood Mahmood Ali, popularly known as Lucky Ali. The event was attended by the troops of Assam Rifles besides personnel from Army and Air Force. A festive atmosphere reigned in the serene valley amidst soulful singing to the beats of the band. The jawans were mesmerised by the renditions.
Felicitating the group, the Chief Guest, Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, AVSM, SM Director General Assam Rifles, appreciated the efforts made to bring the culture and diversity of the country into the North East, which itself has a rich cultural heritage.
While interacting with the troops, Lucky Ali thanked the Bank for giving him the honour of performing in front of the guardians of the nation in general, and the ‘Sentinels of the North East’, as Assam Rifles is popularly known, which had been his cherished dream come true.
